I then went through the promised features and highlighted those that I had planned to use to make a decision on the use of GPTReels. I chose to try it on some of the more popular niche spaces and tried to create videos there.

Explanatory Science Video

First, I created a 1-minute video that could introduce the topic of quantum computing by using information provided in some Wikipedia articles. I copied the above text into GPTReels and pressed the ‘Reel Now’ button to have the tool generate its results.

In under 60 seconds I got out a well-composed explanation video which amazed me. The audio of the voiceover was produced by the AI and was sharp and human-like. Some b-roll clips and diagrams surfaced too as the right time while referring to some scenarios from my script.

The only problem is the voice it gives is quite robotic and is not suitable for the longer videos. On the latter case, I overcame this simply by using GPTReels teleprompter to add my own voice to the video.

Commercial for Local Business

Second, I had the task of making an advertisement of 30 seconds for a fantasy bakery. Instead of preparing a whole script I used the commercial video sample and chose those prompt keywords which would show the firm’s interest in offering wedding cakes and custom treats.

This was a great job by the AI to compile a commercial with specific visions and text overlay with the details I have given them. I enjoyed that I could design an advertising campaign that suited me without any filming and cutting techniques in just five minutes.

But there was a default background music to the template and since it didn’t appeal to me for my bakery, I deactivated it. I then went back to GPTReels and searched for another royalty-free audio track that I preferred to the one I had selected initially.

Finally, I tried a significantly more complicated piece of content – a 4-minute reel where GPTReels generates a step-by-step instructional video on how to use Photopea which is a browser-based Photoshop alternative used for image editing.

For this project I did not have a verbatim script rather I had a bullet or points of what I wanted to cover for each point. GPTReels used my outline and recommended visuals that were aligned with the content. The final video seemed well-researched and covered all of the Photopea and its application very well.

The decision to use a computerised voice did not work for this show. As for me, GPTReels’ teleprompter was crucial to rerecording my voiceover since I often do longer pieces.

Some changes were made and it appeared as though it was a jump from one thing to another but I was able to rectify this by reducing the size of the text outline. This allowed me to make small cuts and edits on the videos without having to waste time on the bigger picture scenario. manipulating a timeline.
